The headquarters will be located at the Falset Comarcal Museum and the Montsià Business Incubator and Business Center in La Galera. The CIT will focus on two key areas for regional development: agrotech-agrifood, seeking the modernization of the primary sector through digitalization, sustainability, and added value.
The second priority area is cultural and creative industries, aiming to position culture as a strategic vector for territorial development. The provincial body has already gathered about forty agents from the rural world of Camp de Tarragona and Baix Penedès to analyze the center's deployment.
The Provincial Council plans to hold a similar meeting with agents from the Terres de l’Ebre on February 19 to complete the territorial analysis. The CIT Tarragona will work this year on territorial diagnosis, defining protocols and services, and executing pilot projects aligned with the national CIT Network.
The total budget for the Territorial Innovation Center amounts to 850,000 euros. This investment is co-financed by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, which contributes 510,000 euros, and the Diputació de Tarragona, providing the remaining 340,000 euros.
