The Instercap Asisa Tarragona SPSP suffered a narrow 2-3 defeat in the tie-break against UC3M Voleibol Leganés after more than two hours of intense play at the Pavelló in Tarragona on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

The Tarragona team, known as the 'rojillos', conceded the victory with partial scores of 22-25, 25-17, 25-20, 23-25, and 11-15, in a match that kept the home crowd in suspense until the final point. Equality was the defining characteristic from the opening whistle, with constant lead changes.
In the first set, the connection between Argentine setter Mateo Marzi and attacker Denys González was crucial, although unforced errors prevented the hosts from opening a decisive gap. Despite reaching a 22-19 lead, UC3M Voleibol Leganés reacted with a six-point run to claim the first set.
The 'rojillos' showed a strong capacity for reaction in the second and third sets. In the second, Elieser Rojas punished the opponent from the serve, allowing Tarragona SPSP to dominate clearly (25-17). The third set was led by Yusnier Morales and Denys González, who maintained a very high level to close the set 25-20 and take a 2-1 lead.
With the score 2-1, Leganés forced the tie-break in a high-tension fourth set. Although the visitors took a considerable lead, the Tarragona side managed to close the gap until the final 23-25 score. The tie-break started with the dominance of the team coached by Álvaro Tejero, who better managed the key points and secured the 11-15 victory, deciding the duel by fine margins.
