Train services on the R16 line between Tarragona and Tortosa were halted this Thursday as severe wind gusts impacted the southern region of Catalonia.

Renfe officials confirmed that an alternative road transport service has been organized to maintain passenger mobility. However, they warned that bus services could also be affected if weather conditions deteriorate further.
The Civil Protection agency has activated the Ventcat emergency plan. The Meteorological Service of Catalonia forecasts wind speeds exceeding 100 km/h across much of the region, particularly in the south and the Pyrenees, until Friday.
