The Trens i Transports Dignes de les Terres de l’Ebre i Priorat Platform has called a citizen mobilization this Saturday at noon in l’Aldea to demand the improvement of all transport services in the region.

The protest stems from the deep dissatisfaction generated by the new railway planning in Catalonia, which, according to the entity, has disregarded all their demands, even those considered "crumbs." The demonstration will take place at the roundabout accessing the AP-7 and the C-43, where traffic will be intermittently cut off.

"When they say they have improved infrastructure in Tarragona, they mean up to Camp de Tarragona. A train leaves Tarragona city every half hour towards Barcelona, but here we don't even have a fast train to go to the provincial capital."

Among the ignored requests is the recovery of the two semi-direct trains to Tarragona and Barcelona lost by the R-16 following the works on the Roda de Berà tunnel. Furthermore, the schedule for the only morning Avant train to Barcelona has not been advanced, nor has a second daily frequency for this high-speed service been scheduled.

"We have been abandoned by the Generalitat and by our political and administrative representatives who, for two years, have not done enough work to respond to these requests."

In addition to immediate requests, the platform demands historical projects, such as the intermodal station, the Ebre mobility plan, and the tren-tram system. They initially planned to block the train tracks but changed the location after being warned of potential fines of up to 30,000 euros under current regulations.
