The Torredembarra City Council has started works to implement 14 LED public lighting points on the N-340a road section connecting to Altafulla, aiming to guarantee safety and visibility for pedestrians and cyclists.

The execution of the project, awarded to the company Bosir SA with an adjudication budget of €77,455.73 (VAT included), has an estimated completion time of two months since its start in mid-December. The work focuses on the stretch between the Puntet d'Altafulla roundabout and the Onze de Setembre street bridge.

"this action is essential to guarantee the safety of all people who use this road, especially cyclists and pedestrians, in an environment with a very high volume of road traffic"

The installation of the 14 LED luminaires is part of the broader project to implement the bike and pedestrian lane along this section of the old N-340. This route directly connects Torredembarra with the urban center of Altafulla and is also one of the main access roads to the AP-7 motorway.
Previously, the lane, which is delimited by reflective rubber separators to prevent vehicle intrusion, lacked sufficient active lighting, compromising visibility during nighttime hours.
