The Terra Alta Regional Council reopened the section of the Via Verda between Bot and Prat de Comte this Wednesday, after completing repair work on tunnel number 13 to ensure user safety.

The work began after movements were detected in the stone vault at the entrance of the tunnel on the Bot side. Since January 22, both entrances to the tunnel were preventively closed to allow for repair tasks.
Tasks included clearing the trees located above the affected vault and placing witnesses on the detected cracks. Following the repairs, the technical inspection confirmed the absence of movements or structural deficiencies posing a risk to users.
Despite the reopening, the regional body will continue to periodically monitor the tunnel's condition through regular inspections. If necessary, new reinforcement actions will be promoted at the tunnel entrance to ensure the safety and good condition of this infrastructure used by cyclists and pedestrians.
