Local Action Groups from Terres de l'Ebre traveled to Brussels on March 10 to advocate for the LEADER program within the new 2028-2034 Multiannual Financial Framework.

The delegation, including representatives from Terra Alta and Ribera d'Ebre, warned that the European Commission's proposal risks centralizing funds. They argue this could weaken a vital tool specifically designed for local needs and rural revitalization.
Between 2014 and 2022, these groups managed over 9 million euros in the Ebro region, supporting 272 projects and creating 226 new jobs. Local leaders are calling on European institutions to reinforce the program to ensure economic opportunities and social cohesion in small municipalities.
