The Municipal Government, through Councillor Laia Bonet, announced Tuesday at the urban planning commission the proposal to delist buildings 67 and 69 on Vallcarca avenue to prevent demolition and preserve twenty homes.

This proposal is part of the table established to modify the urban planning of Vallcarca, linked to the 2002 General Plan and its 2018 modification, agreed upon between the PSC and BComú. The goal is to prevent the loss of housing and allow the construction of social housing for the elderly up to Casa Comas d'Argemir.

"We think it is good that they propose to keep them because we are against razing everything and then having to build anew."

The neighborhood association Som Barri, represented by Vice President Aran Llivina, welcomes the preservation but criticizes the City Council for only choosing these two properties. The association requests the delisting of three more properties (Bolívar 36 and Vallcarca 83 and 87), which are century-old buildings that could be rehabilitated and converted into social housing.
In parallel, the tender process for the demolition works of the premises at Farigola 2 street continues, where a mediation table has been initiated for the relocation of tenants. The District Manager indicated the “imperious need to make the effective eviction of the property coincide with its immediate demolition.”
