The Agramunt City Council has approved the restoration of the historic Puelles reservoir, a 17th-century stone structure in the Urgell region that currently faces a high risk of collapse.

Built in 1610, the reservoir covers 900 square meters and is located near the Sant Domènec church. The restoration project aims to stabilize the eastern wall using traditional dry stone techniques, which are recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. The work will be done manually using local materials to maintain the site's historical integrity.

"The works are considered urgent, given the advanced state of degradation of the structure."

The project has a budget of 122,596.30 euros and a ten-month timeline. This site, which served as a shelter during the Spanish Civil War, was officially designated as a Local Cultural Heritage Site in 2024.
