Government spokesperson Sílvia Paneque confirmed the lifting of avian flu restrictions in Urgell and Pla d'Urgell this Wednesday, following thirty days without any new outbreaks detected.

The decision follows yesterday's executive meeting, where the Minister of Agriculture, Òscar Ordeig, reported that no further cases were found within the affected radius. This measure allows for the resumption of poultry movement in the Ponent region.
The last outbreak was reported on January 9 at a farm in Castellnou de Seana, located near the Bellpuig facility where the first case was detected in December. Restrictions had limited poultry movement within a 10-kilometer perimeter.
The expanded surveillance radius in January included towns such as Bellvís, la Fuliola, Linyola, and el Poal. Sanitary controls led to the culling of 9,000 animals in Castellnou de Seana and 230,000 laying hens in Bellpuig.
