The Generalitat Firefighters stabilized the agricultural and forest vegetation fire that broke out in Guimerà (Urgell) on Wednesday evening during the early hours of Thursday.

The fire alert was received at 8:48 PM on Wednesday. The left flank and the head of the fire advanced mainly through stubble fields, anchoring on paths and through technical fire maneuvers. The right flank affected holm oak groves with flames between 10 and 15 meters long.
With daylight, the perimeter needs to be reviewed, especially a difficult-to-access slope on the upper part of the right flank. The rest of the fires declared in recent days are already stabilized or controlled, and firefighters continue to work on them with numerous crews.
Likewise, shortly after 10:00 PM on Wednesday, the forest vegetation fire in Navarcles (Bages) was declared stabilized. This fire impacted an industrial estate on the right flank, forcing crews to also work on extinguishing an industrial fire. Workers were evacuated and later accompanied to collect their belongings once the intensity of the flames subsided. Drone unit personnel from the Aerial Means unit also inspected the industry with a thermal camera.
During Wednesday afternoon, the fires in Sentmenat, Pla de Manlleu, and Gavà were also declared stabilized. In all cases, an extinguishing device remains in place and will continue operations to achieve full control.
This Thursday, firefighters have faced a new episode of complex simultaneous fires, with record-breaking figures. High temperatures, low relative humidity, and the sea breeze create a dangerous combination that favors the rapid spread of fires.
The Generalitat Firefighters had already warned before the start of this week of a scenario of great complexity regarding the intensity and speed of forest fires.
