The Flors d’Urgell Choir of Castellserà inaugurated the events for its centenary yesterday, coinciding with the feast day of Santa Maria Magdalena, with a special concert at the Santa Maria Magdalena Church.

The inaugural concert featured the choir's director, Sílvia Rufach, on the violin, and David Pradas on the piano. The performance culminated with the interpretation of three songs by all the choir members.
The event took place at the Santa Maria Magdalena Church, patron saint of the town along with Sant Sebastià. After the concert, a commemorative banner was unveiled on the balcony of the Castellserà Town Hall.
The choir, which currently has 45 members, has scheduled about fifteen activities throughout 2026 to commemorate the hundred years since its founding.
Among the main goals for the anniversary year are the recovery of the children's choir and the filming of a documentary focused on the 'caramelles', the founding activity of the entity.
One of the next major events will be on Easter Sunday, when the choir will participate in the traditional 'caramelles' singing and premiere the centenary anthem, titled Flors que canten.
