The fire group Diables BAT de Tàrrega commemorates four decades of its trajectory with a retrospective exhibition at Sala Marsà and the inauguration of an artistic mural at Espai Fassina.

Within the framework of the Festa Major de Maig, the Diables BAT de Tàrrega have inaugurated an exhibition commemorating their 40 years of activity at Sala Marsà. The exhibition, which can be visited until June 28, reviews the history of this unique group, known for its commitment to theatricalized fire, distinct from traditional correfocs and inspired by the creative spirit of the Comediants.

"This exhibition, a summary of these 40 years, is an illusion for the entire group of devils and for all the people who founded the group and that 40 years later the group remains active, alive and with great desire to do things."

Over these four decades, the group has traveled more than 23,000 kilometers bringing fire throughout the territory, performing 168 correfocs, 128 drum performances, and 15 large-format shows. The Culture councilor has expressed the council's pride in celebrating this anniversary and highlighted the generational handover, with an active children's group since 2017, ensuring the group's future.
The exhibition includes photographs, costumes (such as those used at the closing ceremony of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games), pyrotechnic artifacts, and memorabilia illustrating the evolution of the group, founded on June 24, 1986, as a section of the BAT theater group. This theatrical connection has been fundamental, as each outing has been conceived as a show with scenes, characters, and a script.

"We wanted to do correfocs, but theatricalized. BAT was a theater group and the theater spread to the devils group."

As part of the celebration, a large mural has been inaugurated at Espai Fassina, created by Noèlia Sevillano, a student of the Intermediate Level Training Cycle in Mural Coatings at the Escola d'Art Ondara de Tàrrega. This work reinterprets the visual identity of the group, condensing its passion, energy, and collective history.
With nearly ninety members, including adults and children, the Diables BAT stand out for their generational diversity and gender parity. Throughout their history, more than 200 people have been part of the group, solidifying it as a true family.
