The Urgell region has been excluded from the Generalitat's pilot plan to incorporate Mossos d'Esquadra officers into secondary schools, after four centers expressed their rejection.

The Manuel de Pedrolo school in Tàrrega informed families yesterday of its decision not to participate in the project, following a faculty vote that largely opposed it. This refusal joins those already expressed by three other high schools in the region: Alfons Costafreda in Tàrrega, Ribera del Sió in Agramunt, and Lo Pla d'Urgell in Bellpuig.
The vote at Manuel de Pedrolo was conducted telematically, with 30 votes against the incorporation of officers, 11 in favor, and 14 abstentions. This decision means the center will not be part of the pilot plan, according to the statement sent to families.

"We will continue to coordinate with the different agents in the territory, such as Health services, city councils, the regional council, and also, the security forces and bodies."

The school's document reminds that security forces have been collaborating with educational centers for years, offering training and advice when necessary. On the other hand, the Generalitat's plan does include two Aranese centers in Lleida: the Val d'Aran institute in Vielha and the Escòla d'Ostalaria in Les, the latter being the only one that has expressly spoken in favor of incorporating plainclothes, unarmed officers to promote coexistence.
