A fire that broke out in a scrubland area near the La Valira Institute in La Seu d'Urgell has forced the precautionary confinement of ten students and nine staff members from the educational center due to smoke.

The fire, which started in the early afternoon, prompted the activation of the center's emergency plan for confinement at 3:45 PM. The confined individuals included ten students from the dining service, four monitors, a janitor, and two cleaning staff members.
The situation normalized at 4:45 PM, once the fire was under control and the alert was lifted. The school's management wished to highlight the good work carried out by the staff present at the institute during the incident.
Three units from the Bomberos de la Generalitat (Generalitat Firefighters) participated in extinguishing the fire. The blaze affected approximately 300 square meters of forest vegetation on the left bank of the Valira River. The institute sustained no damage, and the last fire unit departed an hour and a half after their arrival, once the fire was declared completely extinguished.
