The political groups Junts and CUP have announced a no-confidence motion at Tàrrega City Council to remove Mayor Alba Pijuan from office after she failed a confidence vote.

The agreement will see Rosa Maria Perelló return to the mayoralty, a position she previously held from 2011 to 2019. The new coalition aims to end the political paralysis in the capital of Urgell, following the minority government's inability to pass the municipal budget.
The new administration will focus on public services, including the municipalization of the Ateneu Theatre and the creation of a new Language department. While Junts will oversee Urban Planning and Economy, CUP will manage Housing, Culture, and Energy Transition.

"The decision comes as a direct result of the political blockade generated by an executive unable to articulate a majority."
