The political parties Junts and CUP formalized a governance agreement this Wednesday in Tàrrega, ensuring the stability of the Urgell capital's local government until the 2027 elections.

The deal establishes Rosa Maria Perelló (Junts) as the new mayor, also overseeing Finance. Laia Recasens (CUP) will serve as the first deputy mayor, managing Municipal Services, Environment, and Water resources.
Key points of the 2027 roadmap include a half-million euro investment in housing policies and the transition of the Ateneu Theatre to municipal control. The coalition also plans to study the full public management of the local water supply.
The new municipal structure distributes responsibilities such as Culture and Language to CUP members, while Junts will lead departments including Public Safety, Sports, Urban Planning, and Economic Promotion.
