Around 500 people gathered this Saturday for the Carnival parade in la Seu d'Urgell, which ended at the Sant Domènec hall to ensure public safety.

The City Councilor for Festivities, Christina Moreno, explained that the change in the route was a matter of responsibility due to high attendance. The new finish line at Sant Domènec was designed to be more accessible for families and younger participants who previously struggled with the longer route to the sports area. The event was organized alongside the Dance Association and the Diables de l'Alt Urgell.

"In a context where wars are present in our daily lives, we believe Carnival can also be a space for collective reflection."

The 2026 edition focused on a message of peace, aiming to provide the festivities with an educational background. Additionally, the Festa Jove held on Friday at l'Escorxador saw 71 young people attending, proving to be a successful healthy leisure alternative. However, the high turnout may lead the la Seu d'Urgell council to reconsider the venue capacity for future celebrations.
