The La Seu d’Urgell City Council has completed the renovation of public lighting in several neighborhoods and main avenues, incorporating state-of-the-art LED technology with sustainability and citizen safety criteria.

The main objective of this municipal project is to improve existing infrastructure, applying sustainability and energy efficiency criteria, while also recovering a more traditional and welcoming illumination.
In the neighborhoods of Sant Antoni, Sant Pere, and Poble-sec, the characteristic orange/amber color of old bulbs has been revived using LED technology. According to the council, the new equipment helps protect the night sky by reducing light pollution, ensures optimal visibility for citizen safety, and generates significant energy savings.
This initiative was carried out in coordination with the Les Valls de Valira City Council, installing a joint lighting model to unify the territory's image and facilitate future maintenance. The supply cost, handled by SALVI, was €13,047.61, while the installation by Instal·lacions Vilana S.L. cost €6,758.14.
In parallel, improvements have been completed on Pau Claris and Valls d’Andorra avenues, and on Sant Ot street. The poor condition of the old lights in these areas had created dark spots and safety concerns. 32 new projectors have been installed at a lower height to optimize light distribution and enhance pedestrian safety.
These works were carried out by the Municipal Technical Services Brigade, with an investment of €5,710 (VAT included). The City Council emphasizes that these interventions represent a step forward in improving public spaces, placing technology at the service of residents' well-being and environmental respect.
