Cereal fields flooded by rainwater during winter.

Farmers in the Pla d'Urgell region warned this February that cereal crops urgently require forty dry days to prevent fungal growth and secure the annual harvest.

Since before Christmas, areas such as Bell-lloc d'Urgell have seen over 150 liters of rain, far exceeding the typical winter average of 30 liters. The fields are currently waterlogged, making it impossible for heavy machinery to enter and apply necessary treatments.

"The Administration needs to get its act together to flexibilize authorizations for drone flights."

Pere Roqué · President of Asaja Lleida
The agricultural organization Asaja has formally requested the Generalitat to allow the use of drones for phytosanitary applications, providing a technological solution for fields that remain inaccessible to traditional tractors.
