The Maldanell school and the Maldà Town Council joined forces this Saturday to attract new enrollments through an open day, aiming to boost the local community in Urgell.

Although the center is not currently in imminent danger of closing, as it exceeds the minimum threshold of five students, forecasts for the next academic year require action. The school currently has seven students, but with two pupils moving to high school in September, the number is expected to drop.

"In a small school, it is easier to adapt to each child and offer a truly individualized education, something that is much more complicated in large centers."

To support family work-life balance, a canteen service was launched this year. The school management highlighted that rural schools are essential to prevent villages from fading away and to revitalize the Urgell territory.
