The Mayor of Tàrrega, Rosa Maria Perelló Escoda, has described her return to office as a 'gift' as she prepares to end her 16-year political career in the Urgell region.

Following a successful motion of censure, the new government coalition between Junts and CUP is prioritizing the approval of a new budget by June. Perelló emphasized that both parties have put local interests ahead of political differences to ensure stability for the city.

"Ending my career as Mayor of Tàrrega is a gift and, in a way, poetic justice."

Key challenges for the remaining 14 months of the mandate include a new study on water management and improving the door-to-door waste collection system. The administration also plans to remove the greenway to Vilagrassa and increase funding for social housing and public space maintenance.
With 49 years of professional life, Perelló confirmed she will step down at the end of this term to allow for a new generation of leaders in Tàrrega.
