The Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating a series of three robberies carried out this morning against tobacco shops in Belianes, Anglesola, and Bellpuig, in the Urgell region.

The incidents occurred within minutes of each other. A man wearing a balaclava and dark glasses entered the shops wielding a 25-centimeter knife. An accomplice waited outside in a black Seat Ibiza to facilitate their escape.

"He asked for the money. In that moment, with an adrenaline rush, I thought he wouldn't take the cash register, and I threw a box of flashlights at him."

While the Belianes and Bellpuig attempts failed, the suspect managed to steal the cash register from the Anglesola shop at 11:08 AM. No injuries were reported, but local owners have expressed deep concern over the lack of security.
