Around 300 people marched through the streets of Tàrrega this Saturday to honor Juan, an 18-year-old murdered last August, and to demand legislative changes.

The demonstration crossed the center of the Urgell capital with slogans such as 'Justice for Juan' and 'We want safe neighborhoods'. The march started at Sant Pelegrí street, where the crime occurred six months ago, and ended at Plaça Major with a minute of silence.

"It cannot be that for being a minor, for a murder you only get 8 years in prison. In the end, the crime is the same."

The victim's family has launched a campaign on change.org which has already gathered over 62,000 signatures calling for a reform of the Juvenile Law. Participants created a heart shape using white carnations to remember the young man.
