Around 300 people marched this Saturday through the streets of Tàrrega to honor Juan, the 18-year-old killed in August, and to demand an urgent reform of the Juvenile Law.

The march began on Sant Pelegrí street, in front of the building where the crime occurred on August 21. Participants, accompanied by whistles and drums, walked through the city center to Plaça Major, where a minute of silence was observed and a heart made of white carnations was laid in memory of the victim.

"It cannot be that for being a minor, for a murder you only get eight years in prison. In the end, the crime is the same."

The victim's family criticizes the slowness of the judicial process and is leading a campaign on Change.org that has already gathered over 62,000 signatures. The mobilization aims to prevent cases like Juan's, allegedly killed by a 17-year-old, from resulting in sentences they consider insufficient.
