The Mayor of Tàrrega, Alba Pijuan, has described the new governing agreement between Junts and CUP as 'unnatural', following the collapse of her minority government's budget proposals this March.

Pijuan, representing ERC, criticized the alliance between the far-left and the traditional right, claiming it lacks a shared vision for the city. She defended her coalition with the PSC, highlighting a record 24 million euro budget that was recently rejected by the plenary session on February 19th.

"In life and politics there are two ways of doing things: building or blocking and wearing down."

The political crisis in the capital of Urgell intensified after the mayor lost a confidence vote on February 25th. Pijuan has held office since 2019 and expressed gratitude to the citizens while vowing to continue her 'constructive policy' despite the looming motion of no confidence.
