Tàrrega City Council has opened the call for the twelfth season of 'L'Hort de Tàrrega', offering plots for ecological cultivation and self-consumption throughout 2026.

The initiative, managed by the Department of Social Action, reaches its 12th edition and aims primarily to provide citizens with access to spaces for sustainable horticulture. The plots are intended for individuals, non-profit organizations, and educational centers.

"It is much more than a meeting place for people interested in horticulture; it is also a tool for social interaction."

Alba Castellana · Councillor for Social Action
Applications can be submitted electronically or in person at the Social Action Office until Thursday, February 12. The plots will be allocated through a draw on Friday, February 13, and the new season will run from March 3 until October 31.
The urban garden site occupies a total area of 2,625 m2 at the corner of Canal d’Urgell and Bellpuig streets. Within this space, approximately 1,500 m2 have been allocated for cultivation, divided into plots of 50 and 25 square meters. Last year, plots were awarded to a total of 35 gardeners.
The Tàrrega City Council supports the project with technical staff specializing in ecological farming to offer advice to the beneficiaries. Furthermore, the drip irrigation system uses water from an existing well on the site, promoting sustainability and water conservation.
