The event took place at Plaça de les Nacions, featuring a charity chocolate feast organized with the local scout group Cau. Proceeds from the sales will benefit the Sant Joan de Déu Children's Hospital in Barcelona.
A highlight of this year was the introduction of metal mugs featuring the slogan Xocolata a l'orinal, reviving a local tradition. The theatrical group Cruma performed the main show, La Toltes i els Poca-soltes, for hundreds of attendees.
The Urgell capital expects a record-breaking parade on Saturday, with 74 groups and over 1,450 people registered to welcome the Carnival Queen to the city streets.
