In its first five years, the initiative has provided guidance to 125 entrepreneurs in small villages. Working with Rural Development Groups, the program identifies high-potential projects and provides grants ranging from 1,000 to 5,000 euros.
A key example is Marta Capdevila, who reopened Embotits Cal Bosch in Belianes. After leaving her job at the local library, she decided to revive the family butcher shop, which had been closed since 2018, to preserve traditional meat-processing techniques.
“"Everything I did during the mentorship was useful. We want to educate customers about healthy eating and fair prices."
The business focuses on high-quality products using Ral d'Avinyó pork and natural preservatives. By operating on an on-demand basis via digital channels, the shop ensures sustainability and better work-life balance for its staff in the Urgell region.
