Three 4th-year ESO students from the Institut La Valira in La Seu d'Urgell have been awarded an honorable mention in this year's edition of the Kangaroo Math Contest.

This recognition distinguishes students who achieved a score within the top 1% of all participants in Catalonia, a figure that exceeded 15,000 students in this year's competition.
The competition, promoted by the Societat Catalana de Matemàtiques, focuses on conceptual reasoning, ingenuity, and logic, moving away from models based solely on rote memorization or mechanical calculation.
The school administration expressed their satisfaction with the results, noting that this success reflects the high level of mathematical competence and analytical ability demonstrated by the students.
The Kangaroo Math Contest is part of an international competition organized by the Le Kangourou sans Frontières association. In Catalonia, the Societat Catalana de Matemàtiques has coordinated this initiative since 1996, establishing it as one of the most widely attended school events globally.
