Farmers near Tàrrega have maintained the blockade of the A-2 for over 48 hours to demand that the Government reduce bureaucracy and provide drought aid.

The protesters, despite the accumulated fatigue after two days of blockage, confirm that morale remains high and that they will continue the mobilizations at least until Friday night. This Thursday, the agricultural sector is holding a crucial meeting with the Minister of Climate Action, David Mascort, to try to reach agreements.

The sector demands to be valued, an end to abuses in the food chain, and that drought aid be granted without conditions.

The main demands focus on the urgent need to reduce the bureaucracy that is stifling farms and the granting of direct aid to mitigate the catastrophic losses of recent campaigns.
The agricultural sector expresses great concern about the future, especially regarding generational replacement, which is threatened by a lack of profitability.
The collapse of the A-2 in Tàrrega, which adds to six other cuts across Catalonia, is causing kilometer-long queues. Many truckers have been trapped on the road since Tuesday, leading to significant logistical frustration.
