Thieves broke into a house on Carrer Castell in Tàrrega last Monday, January 5, taking advantage of the owners' absence while they attended the popular Three Kings Parade.

The burglary took place in the historic center of the capital of Urgell, just a few meters from the route followed by the floats of Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthazar. The incident occurred between 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM, the time when the festive parade concentrated most of the local residents.
The perpetrators accessed the property on Carrer Castell, located about 250 meters from the Plaça Major, after forcing open one of the windows. They stole jewelry, a watch, and a PlayStation console, with a total estimated value of about 6,500 euros.
The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police) and the Policia Local of Tàrrega are investigating the incident after the affected parties filed two complaints. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
This type of robbery, taking advantage of residents' absence due to festive events, is a trend detected by police forces in recent years. Last year, similar waves were recorded in Lleida municipalities such as Camarasa, Bell-lloc, Alfarràs, Castellserà, Pradell, and l’Espluga Calba, coinciding with major local festivals.
