Six Catalan theatre companies will compete in the 37th Tàrrega City Theatre Group Contest, which will take place at the Teatre Ateneu in the capital of Urgell between February 21 and March 28.

The contest, promoted by the BAT group in collaboration with the Tàrrega Culture Department and the Institut d'Estudis Ilerdencs, selected six proposals from across Catalonia out of more than sixty submissions received.
The program will begin on Saturday, February 21, with the performance of the play Tartuffe (El Tartuf), by Molière, presented by the company Quatre per Quatre from Granollers.
Comedy will be the predominant genre, as five of the six selected works fall into this category. All performances will take place every Saturday at nine in the evening at the Teatre Ateneu.
Other notable proposals include Carpe Diem, by Joan Gallart (ACR Pere Cot from Tordera); Baby Shower, by Mar Puig (Grup d'Amics del Teatre d'Ullastrell); and Run for Your Wife (Els bojos del bisturí), by Ray Cooney (Grup de Teatre Faltagent de Fonollosa).
