This project, which aims to eliminate architectural barriers detected on sidewalks, includes the installation of relief pavement. This measure is crucial for visually impaired people or those with reduced mobility to detect and recognize intersection points. The company awarded the contract is Tallers Vidal Amill SLU, with a total cost of 61,597 euros (VAT included).
“"The objective is to comply with universal accessibility requirements and facilitate free circulation for all pedestrians."
Works have already begun on Santa Clara street (at the intersection with Canal d’Urgell street) and are currently being carried out on Blaia street (corners with Mestre Pere Pau and Roger de Llúria streets) and on Onze de Setembre avenue. Soon, interventions will take place at other points such as Agramunt street, Mestre Güell street, Bombers street, Canalet boulevard, and Generalitat avenue.
In parallel, the Tàrrega council is also implementing other projects selected by citizens, such as improving lighting with LED technology at pedestrian crossings. Work has already been done at the entrance to the Alfons Costafreda institute, on Tarragona avenue, and interventions will soon follow on Lacetània road and Cervera avenue. Furthermore, there are plans to install 15 feeders for feral cats, another of the approved projects.
