Local artist Francesc Bergadà Gassol inaugurated his first solo exhibition, Construction Lines, last Thursday at the Sala Marsà in Tàrrega, featuring thirty abstract pieces.
The exhibition, titled Construction Lines (Línies de construcció), features a selection of about thirty works created by Francesc Bergadà Gassol (born 1974) between 2023 and 2025. The show invites the public to delve into a plastic universe based on three fundamental pillars: abstraction, geometry, and minimalism.
The pieces are characterized by abstract compositions set in a refined context, highlighting the precision of straight lines, formal order, and a rigorous use of chromatic and monochromatic tones. Bergadà, who previously worked in interior decoration, began focusing on minimalist art following the 2020 pandemic.
“
"My inspiration stems from geometric abstraction. The Danish artist Carsten Beck greatly impacted me, and from there, I began researching the entire abstract movement that emerged at the beginning of the 20th century."
During the presentation, the artist revealed that one of the creations is dedicated to the late Xavier Garcia, a technician at the Tàrrega City Council and organizer of the Sala Marsà exhibitions, who passed away in May 2025.
“
"He was the person who backed me to do the exhibition, and this painting is a tribute to his figure."
“
"The prominent role of Sala Marsà as an exhibition space for emerging talent from Tàrrega. The exhibition has pleasantly surprised us because it is a style unusual for this venue."
This is the first individual show for Francesc Bergadà Gassol, after having previously participated in several collective exhibitions in galleries in Madrid, Germany, and France. The exhibition will remain open until Sunday, March 1.
As a novelty for 2026, the Sala Marsà, located at 10 Vilanova Street, has modified its afternoon schedule, advancing the opening and closing times by one hour. The hours are Thursday and Friday (6 p.m. to 8 p.m.) and Saturday and Sunday (12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.).
