The Tàrrega Council, in an ordinary session convened for Thursday, October 22nd at 7:30 PM, will submit for initial approval modifications to the fiscal ordinances for the year 2027. The most notable changes concern the waste collection and management fee, specifically regarding the fixed fee amounts for commercial activities. A new, more detailed classification will be introduced based on activity type, waste generated, and establishment surface area, aiming to align new categories with actual service costs.
Furthermore, the revised text will exempt empty or inactive premises from paying the fee. There are no changes to the domestic tax quota, which remains at 123.86 euros in Tàrrega and 83.46 euros in the villages of Altet, Claravalls, El Talladell, La Figuerosa, Riudovelles, and Santa Maria de Montmagastrell.
The waste collection and management fee under the Pay-As-You-Throw (PaP) system consists of a fixed fee plus a variable fee based on contributions. Households that use the service correctly (fewer than 48 organic waste bin collections and fewer than 12 for residual waste) will only pay the fixed fee. Mismanagement or extra costs due to improper separation will be reflected in the variable fee. This fee will be 20 euros for 20 to 48 organic waste collections, 80 euros for fewer than 20, and 80 euros for fewer than 12 residual waste collections. Variable fees will be cumulative and applied in 2027.
For commercial activities, the variable fee will apply if they exceed 48 organic waste collections or 12 for residual waste. The increase will be 12% for organic waste between 20 and 48 contributions, and 50% for fewer than 20. For residual waste, the increase will be 50% for fewer than 12 annual contributions.
Tàrrega's selective collection rate stands at around 80% thanks to the PaP model. Paper, cardboard, glass, and packaging fractions will continue to be deposited in fixed public street containers.
Additionally, a temporary suspension of location coefficients for non-sedentary sales stalls at the Monday market is proposed during improvement works on two central streets. These works, which began in late September, have temporarily relocated the market to the area of the old bus station and the plaça de les Nacions Sense Estat. During this period, the tax quota for non-sedentary sales stalls will be determined without applying these coefficients.
The Governing Team plans to freeze all other taxes and fees for 2027, without increasing the fiscal pressure on citizens.
