The Polifònica de l’Urgell organizes the traditional Three Kings Concert, which will conclude the festivities in Tàrrega next Sunday, January 11, at the Teatre Ateneu.

The event, celebrating its 19th edition, will offer a varied program including waltzes by Strauss and Tchaikovsky, opera fragments by composers such as Mozart, Verdi, Rossini, Puccini, and Donizetti, and Christmas carols specially adapted by conductor Salvador Brotons. The performance will feature the Cor de Cambra Arsinova from Barcelona and the Orquestra Simfònica Gratia Artis.

"The Three Kings Concert is an established event within Tàrrega's calendar, allowing us to start the year by reaffirming our commitment to music and high-quality cultural offerings."

Laura Tejero · Culture Councillor of Tàrrega
The soloists for this edition are soprano Laura del Río, baritone Joan Garcia, and clarinetist Ionas Mercadal. Additionally, the Estudi Dansa Tàrrega, which is commemorating its tenth anniversary, will contribute choreographic interventions directed by Mercè Freixas.

"The audience will enjoy an exciting musical journey through time and full of good memories. We are preparing a very special interpretation of a composition by Pau Casals in memory of the great musician and defender of democracy and human rights."

Marta Sans · Spokesperson for the Polifònica de l’Urgell
The concert will keep alive the memory of local musician Àngel Sans, who promoted the initiative from 2008 to 2021. The event is supported by the Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs – Diputació de Lleida and the Departament de Cultura de la Generalitat de Catalunya.
