The parade, featuring eight floats and fifteen tractors, was used by various entities to convey social messages. The platform Pagesos o Conills (Farmers or Rabbits) stood out by displaying dead, gnawed pistachio trees under the slogans “Volem solucions, no subvencions” (We want solutions, not subsidies) and “Ordeig, més fets i menys postureig” (More action, less posing), highlighting the severe plague affecting crops.
Five of the floats belonged to educational centers. Students from Maria-Mercè Marçal denounced the lack of space using compressed farm animals, demanding lower ratios. Meanwhile, the schools Àngel Guimerà and Vedruna paid tribute to the architect Antoni Gaudí on the centenary of his death.
“"the importance of the peasantry for the city and the region, to which we pay homage with this festival that is also a space for sectoral demands."
The young farmer from Altet, Oleguer Castelló, 18 years old and third generation of a family dedicated to organic almond trees, served as the standard-bearer (pendonista) for this edition. The day included a popular breakfast, the blessing of pets, and the distribution of the traditional escudella prepared by Lo Ranxo de Ponts, which quickly ran out of the 150 servings offered.
“"a great pride"
