The fatal accident in Gelida and the subsequent suspension of Renfe Rodalies lines have caused significant traffic congestion on the C-58 highway throughout Wednesday morning.

The railway incident that took place this morning in Gelida forced the suspension of all Rodalies and mid-distance lines operated by Renfe, shifting mobility problems onto the roads since early morning.
Regarding the C-58, five kilometers of traffic jams were recorded southbound, between Sabadell and Terrassa (from kilometer 11 to 16), heading towards Barcelona.
Traffic was also difficult northbound, with three kilometers of congestion between Ripollet and Montcada i Reixac, heading towards Manresa. Furthermore, southbound, four kilometers of congestion accumulated between Barcelona and Montcada i Reixac, towards the Nus de la Trinitat.
A crucial meeting is scheduled to begin at 9.30 AM to evaluate the state of the affected railway infrastructure and determine whether some of the suspended lines can be reopened.
