The Catalan Traffic Service lifted the C-32 South tolls on Wednesday in both directions to manage the traffic surge caused by the total suspension of the Rodalies commuter rail service in Catalonia.

The Servei Català de Trànsit made this emergency decision on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, due to the increase in vehicles on the road network, after the entire Rodalies service was halted following a train accident in Gelida, which resulted in the death of a driver.

"Interurban transport operators have been authorized to use their entire available fleet to facilitate road mobility."

Adif maintains the railway circulation suspended until the infrastructure has been fully inspected and confirmed to be free of possible obstacles fallen during the storm that has crossed the Catalan territory over the last four days.
The interruption of the Rodalies service is causing significant traffic jams since early morning on the main access roads to Barcelona, including the AP-7. The Vallès access points have been particularly affected, with problems reported on the C-16 in Sant Cugat, the C-17 in Mollet, and the C-58 in Terrassa, Sabadell, and Ripollet.
