The Castellbisbal Municipal Council approved amendments to the statutes of the Linguistic Normalization Consortium on Monday, October 26, with the support of most municipal groups. The annual revision of the municipal population register was also ratified, placing the population at 13,141 inhabitants.

The first two items on the agenda, concerning the repeal of public prices for the municipal waste collection point and the modification of the municipal waste management fee ordinance, were withdrawn before voting. The proposal, which aimed to apply the waste collection fee based on the number of registered residents, did not have the necessary support from the municipal groups.
The agreement to ratify the amendments to the statutes of the Linguistic Normalization Consortium received favorable votes from SOM-HI, Alternativa, SOM VEU, Junts, and the non-attached councilor, with VOX voting against. This modification, approved by the Generalitat de Catalunya, aims to update the consortium's operations, organization, and financing, as well as incorporate new functions, such as managing official Catalan certification tests.
Unanimously, the annual revision of the municipal population register was approved. According to INE data, Castellbisbal has 13,141 registered inhabitants as of January 1, 2026, an increase of 80 people compared to the previous year.
It was also approved by a majority (with VOX abstaining) to declare as being of special municipal interest the activities promoted by the association Cohesiona’t Castellbisbal, consisting of the installation of inflatable attractions during the main town and urbanisation festivals. This declaration allows for a 95% reduction in the fee for the necessary licenses, as it is a non-profit activity that contributes to the dynamism of the festivals.
Finally, the motion presented urgently by the municipal group SOM VEU to promote a safe pedestrian connection in Costablanca was unanimously approved. The agreement calls for resuming negotiations with the competent administrations to improve connectivity and ensure safe access to public transport.
The opposition groups submitted a total of 28 requests and questions regarding road safety, the status of certain construction projects, and public space cleaning, among other issues.
