The Ministry of Agriculture confirmed on December 16 ten new cases of wild boars dead from African Swine Fever (ASF) within the security radius established in Cerdanyola del Vallès, totaling 26 infected animals.

These ten new positives were detected within the radius of the first confirmed outbreak in the Cerdanyola del Vallès area. This update confirms the presence of the disease in a total of 26 wild animals since the outbreak began on November 28.
The Spanish Government detailed in a statement that more than 200 carcasses of animals found in the natural environment or on roads and railway lines in the infected area have been analyzed, all of which tested negative for ASF.

"The central and autonomous administrations recall the need to maintain a high level of alert, with elevated biosecurity measures both on farms and in wild boar populations."
