The event, jointly organized by the Centro Andaluz Nueva Carteya and the Confraria Virgen de las Angustias, filled the Seu d’Ègara with emotion and sentiment. The initiative successfully united various brotherhoods from Terrassa, making the gathering a remarkable success in terms of participation.
More than thirty individuals took to the stage to perform their saetas, including notable saeteras such as Consuelo de Málaga, Esperanza Paloma, and Ramoni García. This contest does not seek a winner but rather focuses on elevating this traditional art form, where performers express 'what their heart demands'.
“"For us, it was a complete success; it’s the result of many months of collaborative work."
This year's edition was notable for a significant female presence, both in the organization and among the participants. In addition to the saeteras, bailaoras, students from the Centro Andaluz de Nueva Carteya school, presented choreographies specifically created for the occasion. This trend highlights an evolution in a tradition historically linked to men, demonstrating that art can advance and adapt to contemporary times.
