The emergency call was received at midday regarding a fire at number 1 Ricardo Caro street, in the Plaça Catalunya - Escola Industrial neighborhood. According to Firefighters, the flames were contained to the living room, where a sofa, air conditioning unit, and other furniture were destroyed.
While the fire only directly damaged one room, smoke spread throughout the rest of the property and the building's staircase. This led residents to either shelter in place or evacuate. Witnesses noted that the quick actions of neighbors were essential for the rapid arrival of emergency services.
Once the fire was extinguished, crews ventilated the premises. During the operation, Firefighters had to cut through a window awning to clear the smoke. This incident marks the second fire in Terrassa this weekend, following an evacuation at Parc Vallès on Saturday night.
