The Military Emergency Unit (UME) has withdrawn from Collserola after concluding its operational collaboration in the containment effort against African Swine Fever (ASF), as confirmed cases in Vallès Occidental reached 142.

The withdrawal of the UME became effective this Friday, closing the operational support phase for the Rural Agents Corps, which maintains the containment device permanently active. The outbreak, detected on November 28 in Cerdanyola, is the first in Catalonia since 1994.

"The work has been intense, rigorous, and essential by the Rural Agents to contain an outbreak not seen in Catalonia since 1994."

The Department of Agriculture confirmed 39 additional ASF positives in wild boars captured or found dead, raising the total to 142 cases. All positives are within the high-risk radius of six kilometers around the initial focus. Restrictions remain in force in this area, and in Collserola, the park continues to be closed at night to intensify captures.
Coinciding with the notification of new cases, the Generalitat announced the resumption of hunter sweeps in the low-risk zone (between 10 and 20 kilometers from the focus), aiming to reduce the wild boar population. This activity is reactivated in 54 private areas and controlled zones such as Sant Llorenç del Munt, Montserrat, and Garraf, under strict biosecurity measures.
Furthermore, the Rural Agents Corps presented new vehicles and infrastructure to strengthen outbreak control. The fleet is expanding with 245 new units, including renewals and acquisitions, and the Advanced Command Center (CCA) in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda has replaced provisional tents with prefabricated modules.
