The director of the Ter-Llobregat Water Supply Agency, David Vila, has confirmed a 158 million euro investment plan to modernize the water network serving Terrassa and the Vallès Occidental region.

The flagship project involves a 66 million euro investment for a new pipeline connecting the Llobregat plant to Terrassa. Scheduled for completion by 2032, this infrastructure will replace three aging pipes to improve efficiency and operational security. David Vila emphasized the need for a completely new system rather than minor repairs.

"We are committed to building an entirely new pipeline from the Llobregat plant with the pumping capacity to drive all the water we need."

An additional 65 million euros will be allocated to expand the Llobregat Water Treatment Plant in Abrera. By late 2029, the facility is expected to handle 4 cubic meters per second, significantly increasing capacity and eventually replacing the outdated Terrassa plant.
