The Ter-Llobregat Water Supply Network (ATL) has announced a massive 158 million euro investment plan through 2032 to modernize water infrastructure in Terrassa and nearby towns.

Director David Vila confirmed the construction of a new main pipeline from the Llobregat plant to Terrassa. This project will replace aging pipes from the 1940s and provide direct connections to Ullastrell and Matadepera, ensuring better service for the region.
Key developments include a new head reservoir in Viladecavalls and the first-ever connection for Vacarisses to the regional network by 2029. This move is designed to end the town's reliance on local wells, which have struggled during recent droughts.

"The branches will be sized according to future needs and urban growth perspectives."

By 2029, the Llobregat Water Treatment Plant will handle all supply for the Vallès Oest area. The current Terrassa plant is scheduled to close in three years as ATL centralizes advanced desalination and treatment processes at the Abrera facility.
