The Joventut Atlètica Montcada has announced the cancellation of the 2026 edition of the Montescatano mountain race, scheduled in the serralada de Marina, due to health restrictions related to African swine fever.

The twelfth edition of the Montescatano race, organized by Joventut Atlètica Montcada (JAM) since 2013 with the support of the Montcada i Reixac City Council, will not take place this year. The decision was made due to health restrictions resulting from the African swine fever outbreak.
These restrictions impact access to and activities within natural areas, making the sporting event impossible to hold. The race, traditionally held in April, was already moved to autumn last year. The 2020 and 2021 editions were also suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
