Adifolk has announced the official program for the event, which will take place in the Swedish capital. From the Castell de Falset, it has been reported that the sardana dance will be one of the highlights, offering an international platform for Catalan entities.
As part of the Kulturfestivalen, the city will host a showcase of Catalan intangible heritage. This year, the group Amunt i Crits from Terrassa will participate for the first time, with eighteen members traveling to the Swedish capital to dance sardanas.
“"It will be very intense days, but we are going with great enthusiasm and eagerness. We had wanted to participate for a long time, but the dates weren't suitable for our members, and this year our dream of participating has come true."
Also participating will be the Colla de Geganters de Rubí (Rubí's Giant Keepers), the human tower group Els Saballuts de Sabadell, and the Ball de Pastorets de Barberà del Vallès (Barberà del Vallès Shepherd's Dance), Ara i Sempre.
From August 13th to 16th, the streets of Stockholm will be filled with activities such as sardanas, traditional dances, giants, festive beasts, human towers, concerts, habaneras, and traditional games. Catalan culture is the guest of honor.
The program includes sardana exhibitions, an inaugural show, a display of traditional games, workshops, a gathering of festive elements, a parade, sardana dancing, dance showcases, and concerts, culminating in a closing performance on Sunday, August 16th.
