Around forty members of the Venezuelan community in Terrassa gathered Friday at the Raval de Montserrat to reject the detention of Nicolás Maduro and his wife by the United States.

The protest took place in front of the Terrassa City Hall on Friday, January 16, aiming primarily to express rejection of any foreign interference in the internal affairs of Venezuela.

The concentration is a response to the rejection of imperialist aggressions against their country.

The Bolivarian Committee of Terrassa, the organizing entity, brought together people of different ages and ethnicities. Participants displayed Venezuelan flags and banners.
Prominent slogans included “We defend the sovereignty of Bolivarian Venezuela”, and chants were made in favor of respecting the will of the Venezuelan people. The action unfolded peacefully, with demonstrators denouncing what they describe as a political and judicial attack against President Nicolás Maduro.
